Geography Analytics: Know Exactly Where Your Visitors Come From

From a glowing world map down to the exact list of visitors in one city — how location data changes your marketing decisions.

"Where are my customers?" is one of the most important questions in business. Online, most owners genuinely don't know the answer. Geography analytics fixes that.

The three-level drill-down

Anested Analytics gives you location data in three levels:

  1. World view — a map where countries brighten with more traffic. Next to it, a ranked list of your top countries with pageviews and visitor counts.
  2. Country view — click India and the map switches to states. See Maharashtra vs Karnataka vs Delhi at a glance, each with views, visitors, sessions and average time.
  3. Region view — click a state and get every city, with a full table: views, visitors, sessions, average time and scroll depth.

And then the part nobody else gives you

Click any city and you see the actual visitors from there — anonymous profiles with device, browser and last visit time. Click one and their entire journey opens: every page they viewed, in order, with time spent.

What you do with this

  • Delivery business? If 40% of traffic is from cities you don't deliver to, either expand or stop wasting ad money there.
  • Running local ads? Compare regions before and after a campaign. If the ads target Jaipur but traffic comes from Mumbai, something's wrong with the targeting.
  • Opening a second branch? Let the data pick the city — go where the demand already is.
  • Content in regional languages? If a big chunk of visitors comes from one state, a page in their language can massively improve conversion.

Exports for reports

Every location's visitor list can be exported as CSV (opens in Excel) or a compact PDF — handy for client reports or team meetings.

Setup

If your site already runs the Anested tracking script, geography works automatically — no extra configuration. If not: one line of code, and the map starts lighting up with your very next visitor.
